The Affordable Care Act
The new Administration and Republican leaders in Congress have made it clear that they plan to repeal significant portions of the ACA as quickly as possible.
While it currently appears that the ACA’s Medicare wellness visit, preventive screenings, and prescription drug coverage gap provisions likely will not be repealed, NCOA believes there are several others that are in serious jeopardy. These include:
- The Prevention and Public Health Fund (PPHF), which includes critical investments for Chronic Disease Self-Management Education (CDSME) and Falls Prevention
- The Community First Choice (CFC) program, which provides Medicaid home and community-based services for low-income seniors and people with disabilities
- Medicaid eligibility expansion that includes coverage for low-income people aged 55-64
- Insurance premium limits for people aged 55-64
